The Problematics of Learning Indonesian in Curriculum 2013 in SMA Negeri 6 and SMA Negeri 7
Banjarmasin. The research is done to know some problems of teaching leaning Indonesia language using
this new curriculum which has been carried out in the piloting schools. There are five public senior high
schools in Banjarmasin chosen by the government to be the piloting schools which in them including
SMA Negeri 6 and SMA Negeri 7. The problems the researcher found in both schools are not so far
different based on the condition found and also the changes of the teaching learning process using the
curriculum 2013. Basically both schools (SMAN 6 and SMAN 7) which are observed in implementing
curriculum 2013 have fulfilled the infrastructures needed and have no problems with the intake/ input
of the students. The students who study at both schools are mostly the above average and most of the
equipment needed to support the implementing of the curriculum 2013 are fulfilled. The problems that
emerge from both SMA Negeri 6 and SMA Negeri 7 are about the teachers (human resources) who
teach at these schools because they are not competent to implement the process of teaching using the
curriculum 2013. Not all Indonesian language teachers got the training to implement curriculum 2013.
From the condition mentioned, the problems found are as follows (1) in teaching learning Indonesia
language, teachers still use the previous way (KTSP), they dominate the class, the teacher are more active
than the students (2) students have some difficulties in understanding the texts because the materials are
integrated with other subjects, like science and social subjects. If the students don’t read a lot to explore
the general knowledge, they will get some problems in learning Indonesia language, so do the teachers,
if they don’t master the materials, they will get some problems in guiding and facilitating the students
in learning Indonesia language (3) another factor, teachers are not competent yet to apply the authentic
measurements or tests, it’s because of the limited time, so the measurements done by the teachers tend
only to measure the cognitive measurement, the complete measurements (cognitive, psychomotor, and
manner ) haven’t been done in the proper and thorough way (4) teachers tend to use the traditional way
(talk much), they are not competent yet to master the strategy, approach, and models used in the teaching
learning process recommended.
Key words: problems, teaching learning, indonesian language, curriculum 2013
