The Learning of Integrative Critical Reading through The Problem-Based Learning: The
Strategy of Language Learning of Curriculum 2013. Reading is a medium for acquiring knowledge,
entertainment, open up a new world. Therefore, learning to read is an important activity to
form the language skills of learners. In practice, reading often taught separately from listening
skills, speaking, and writing. In fact, Curriculum 2013 does not divide into four skills of language
learning language curriculums as before. Thus, it would be very beneficial for the development of
students’ language skills when reading skills are taught in an integrated manner, which is read as
the foundation, while the other language skills are alternately used as a support language learning.
Furthermore, students are trained to think critically using critical reading strategies. The results of
the trials showed that the activity in the classroom and using language in an authentic learning
outcomes increased sharply.
